I'm worried about that heat under the seat with that much exposed loop under there. I'm super happy with the sound. Now, I'm worried that the Fat Cat sound is going to suck. I've pissed more money away changing parts it's silly.

The good news is I bought that "new item" Bassani. It came with heat shields delivered for $675.

Hang in there. I got this Bassani from Dennis Kirk delivered for $675. If I can't ease my mind and butt with the heat factor, I'll cut you a real nice deal on it.

That's funny. How can I buy one on line for a couple hundred under cost from a catalog outfit, but you can't get one from a distributor? Crazy.

Both motors are built.

The Bassani just growls all the way through the RPM range.

I'm still out to lunch on the FatCat.
It seems to have a "tinny" sound...which I don't care for.

Noticable differences in the fit of each pipe, too.
The FatCat seems to just fall in place.
The Bassani fit...well, it just sucks ***.

But DAMN...the Bassani sounds goooooood!
Anyone else running Bassani and have any comments on fit or heat?

This was the first exhaust I have installed on anything but a sport bike. It really wasn't that hard. I don't consider myself a great wrench ( I did do all my mods myself but they are not THAT hard). The worst part was the heat shields, but once you **** with them for a little bit they fit fine. I took my time and really enjoyed the whole process (plus it was winter and any time with my bike was welcomed)

The heat I am still out on. It gets warm but I don't find it unbearable. Hottest I have ridden in is mid to high 80's.

The bottom line IMO is the sound, it has everything I was looking for and more. It's hard to describe. Maybe I can get a few sounds clips with my new mini HD camera.

Default road rage

I test fitted mine a couple weeks ago before the my motor upgrade. Actually the pipes went on w/o a hitch. The heat shields take some time and patience and a few 4 letter words but, the first time you hit the key..PERFECT. didnt get to ride it a whole lot before the teardown but iam very satified with them. just puttin around town nice low growl, but drop the hammer and they really come to life! Once the motors done iam sure ill be a very happy camper

excuse the double pic.not smart enough to remove it..

Dick,
I think we all drop some money on these scooters. But if we keep exchanging the parts amongst ourselves, it doesn't count as pissing away. ;-)

They are a pain in the *** to install the first time, a second set of hands realy helps with the individual head pipes fitting into the muffler.

The heat is a non issue, I ride mine in shorts all the time, without heat shields, no problem!
