Default older tour pac

I was looking for a used tour pak for a 2010 FLHR and was offered a tour pac [trunk] from a 1985 FLH. I was wondering if the old tour paks were compatible and would fit my bike on a two up tour pak mounting rack or would I be better off looking for something newer. This is my first Harley and am not to knowledgable on them yet.

The old ones will fit. You will need to get the correct docking hardware for your model, and you may have to drill some holes in the pack or make a mounting plate/add some spacers, but nothing major.
I have one from 1986 on my 08 SG, and had it previously on other HD's.
