Per my wife's a$$ the RK Classic seat on my '04 is less then freindly. I'm thinking about switching to the Sundowner that matches the RK Classic styling. I've also been looking at the new seat and tour pack on the '07 SE Ultra. Can anyone comment on seats that have worked out for the little lady riding two up. Personaly the stock seat works for me, but you know how it is when she's not happy. [:@][:@]

 

I've got the Sundowner ordered for my Road Glide .. hopefully it will be here soon and I'll let you know my thoughts .. and my wife's too.

 

I have three seats (RKC stock, RKC Sundowner and RK stock two piece)....The RKC stock seat is just okay...but my wife won't ride the bike with me unless I have the RKC Sundowner on. Personally I think the Sundowner is much more comfortable and the seat I use most of the time...I think you'll like it. The RK two piece stock is junk and I only use the solo driver seat for around town...anything longer than 50 miles and I have to get off the bike.

 

I have the sundowner on my 06 RKC. I believe that you just think that you like the stock seat. Once you sit in the sundowner, it will feel odd (but good) at first and you will notice that you can feel it wrapping around your butt in the back. You sort of sit in it rather than on it like the stock seat. As for your wife, I am sure that she will like it much better. It is significantly wider and has a slight indention for her butt to sit in. Do you have a passenger backrest? My wife wont ride without the backrest.
I dont think that you can go wrong with the sundowner.

Have to agree with Whateva, the Sundowner seat is an improvement over stock for sure. You seem to sit more in the bike than on it and the extrra passenger width makes her ride better too. The advice on the passenger backrest is good. You should have one. A rider backerest is a good add on also. You will sit straighter with less strain on your lower back on any ride over 10 miles. You can lean back and enjoy the journey.

 

The Sundowner will make the wife happy.

 

Sundowner on my 06 RK. The wife wouldn't ride the stock seat, but really likes the Sundowner. You sit more into the bike and the seat is solid. Add a backrest and you're good to go. When I get a chance, I'll update my photo with the new equipment.
