Looks like PKelly got some good deals!
I used a site called www.searchtempest.com (formerly craigshelper.com) to drag the bar x number of miles from my zip code to search listings for harleys, road kings specifically, or even a specific year of bike. The site allows you to put in your search terms and search multiple craigslist sites across an entire region with one search. This helped me guage 'asking' prices. Also www.cycletrader.com is another source of asking prices.
Then I also used ebay to look for exact matches, and 'followed' the auctions to see if they sold, and what they sold for. This is helpful too, although you might not be able to see these bikes if not in your area, you can sometimes tell how nice the bike is, depending on how detailed the add is, and if it has good pictures, etc.
Lastly, finding dealer prices for the same bike show what the retail looks like, which is always higher than private party, a few thousand more usually...
Along with sources like NADA, you can get a good feeling for what you might want to pay for a bike, or how much you can expect to get if selling...
