Default Screw in rear tire but not flat what to do?

I have a RKC with brand new E3's with 75 miles. I stopped for gas a noticed something on the rear tire and it was a 1" small thread wood screw in my rear tire, in on an angle about 3/4 into the tire. I backed it out and did the spit test and no air was comming out. I headed for home and stopped after 10 miles and cheched the air and was still ok. I think it missed the tube. I parked it in the shop and will check for a leak. I the tube is ok, I now have a tire with a very small hole with a good tube. For peace of mind (when I'm doing 80 on the interstate) should I replace the tire? What would most you guys do? I wanting to replace the tire & tube...is that over reacting? If the tire wasn't brand new, I'd just replace it.

If you pulled the screw out and it's not leaking air with the spit test, you're good to go. More than likely, since the tire was new, it only penetrated the rubber (that wears eventually anyway) and never made it to the belts inside. I'd ride it and not even think twice about it.

Hmmmm, well seeing as its your bike, I would say just ride it till sumpin happens. If it was mine, I would take the tire off the wheel and have a good look at it.

In my mind no leak = no problem.

Remember, the tire is a critical safety feature and ignoring it is just asking for Darwin to step in. I'd pull the tire off the rim and see if it went all the way through.

I plug the back ones with a plug kit available at any car parts store. Lots of people freak if you talk about doing that on a bike, but in the last 20 years I havent had a problem. Front ones I replace, regardless of mileage.

For the price of a tube I'd have a new one installed.
