When I saw the cost and features of the HD system, I MADE SURE there would not be one on my Hog and ordered a decent paging alarm system from Aritronix.

To be an ***: You DID not have to get security, its an OPTION, if your dealer WOULDNT change it out you should have gone to another dealer. We change them out back and forth all the time. Had you said " I dont want security or I dont want YOUR bike" they would have changed it.

To be a bigger ***: why not leave it? Its idiot proof, you dont have to "think" about using it, just change out the batteries every couple of years. Its so easy a caveman could use it!
Dammit Doc! Why did you hafta bring cavemen into it? My ancestors are cavemen!

I'll know better when I buy my next Harley in 2019 if I'm still alive. I bought my last two in 1999 and 2009. New engine in 1999 and new frame in 2009. Next major improvement in 2019.

To hog-doc: No ***, just info. Thanks, that was the info I was looking for.

No worries, mini sss. I suppose your parents would have a lot of perspective that we would all be wise not to forget.

Quick funny story,

I just got my fltr back from the custom shop for a bad dad install. Looked great, but as soon as i got home the security started acting up. Because of the new tail light and load equalizer we thought my problem was from a component. Just discovered the batt in my key fob needed replaced. Bike is an 07. Lear somthin new everyday.

Not true, bought my bike used with one but I didnt want it either. I also didnt want it removed because the next guy might want it in a couple years when I sell. The dealer had no problem disabling it without removing it or replacing parts. Just a quick flash was all, no charge.
