Default Approaching 30,000 miles

Looking for some feedback:
I have recently bought an '05 Electra Glide Classic and have just shy of 29,000 miles. This is my first HD and I will be getting the factory service manual. My wife and I are planning a trip to Kentucky (live in Ohio) over Memorial Day weekend. I have a dependable indy guy not far from my house. I will be close to 30,000 miles by the time of the trip. I have thought about taking the bike to the indy guy for a good "once over" prior to my trip. I'll get to wrenching, just wondered what everyone thought about a look over before a trip.
Thanks

I'd say it can't hurt to have him change all the fluids if they are due and have him give it a good once over before embarking on such a long journey. Good luck and ride safe.

When I bought the bike a few weeks ago, there was 28, xxx on the bike. The dealership said that the fluids had just been changed. A buddy of mine who I respect his advice a lot, said that I should change them just to be sure. So they probably aren't ready for a change, based on the dealership, but at least I will have a mileage when they were changed.

Fuel filter if injected. Clean fork fluid and bearing adjust. Bike alignment. Can't tell if you have spokes. Have indy look at break fluid. He may want to change.
Fluids, tire and brake wear you can check. I'm sure your indy will look at this too. Have a happy trip.

I would do a good once over. I call it a 10,000 mile check up. I would also get the cam chain tensioners checked out.

Have the cam chain tenchners checked out
that seams to be the first thing to go on a
twin cam 88. Mine went out on my 2000 WG
at 40,000ish wound up costing me out the
wazoo

+1 Cam tensioner should be some what questionable other then that my 05 EGC was very reliable even her new owner has close to 60k miles on it no problems with anything else.
