This sucks... you would think there would have been recalls. The most important part on the bike is a weak link. To much back braking and down you go.

Default S/S Brake Lines

They Work!! S/S lines will definately firm up your lever pressure.
Have tthem on my Ol' 'Springer' and the lever pressure is a lot firmer than our 'bagger'! I'm waiting for the next tire change to swap out the brake pads and line(s) on it.
Besides, thay loook good also!!

This is what I'll be doing at the next front tire change.
Have a ways to go yet, so can stretch out the purchases...probably happen this comming winter.

Went the same route as dkitch except I bought directly from Brembo. Two finger braking now. Word of mouth as well as this forum say it was a problem on many (not all) 01. 02, and 03 models.

A few weeks ago...I removed the calipers, freed up the stuck pistons and cleaned. Brakes are working like a new bike.
Thanks

Still a problem on 04 and 05. HD doesnt use any seals on the pistons, they get dirt and brake dust build up, and begin to extend and retract unevenly. If you pull the calipers avery 3k or so, pump the pads out, spray with brake cleaner, manually push them in as far as possible, pump them out again, spray, repeat a few times. Then theyll work fine for another 3k. Works for me, and others I know. Brembos aint cheap, but theyre good. This guy here http://www.fabkevin.com/home.htm makes adapters to fit Tokico calipers to HD legs. Thats my next purchase after the cams are done. My wifes 700 lb kawi stops with 2 fingers from 100 easy with 2 piston Tokico's. Why HD has never been able to get brakes right... They take some backward steps too. My '88 FLH stopped alot better than the current 04.
