Did you ever hear from them? I wouldn't neccesarily give up on them, if they meet your price, do the deal, but don't give in...

Sales guy was busy with a customer. I didnt disturb.
No way I am coming off the original deal Mac. They made a deal and that will be it, or I will drive elsewhere. I have allready emailed 3 other dealers within a 100 mile radius. Lets see what happens there!

RE: Dealer my eye!
I'd let them call ME back and if they don't look elsewhere, prices are coming down finally and if they want to play games. don't buy from them.
I had the exact same experience happen to me, they wanted ME to pay for the dealers service department check over for a bike that I wanted to trade on a new RK, I asked the owner for an explination and that's what he told me that it costs them $4oo to put it through their service department. I told him that the complete service had been done last week and he still insisted on doing it. I explained to him that if he choose to re doo it that it would NOT be at my expense. He lost the sale on that one and I went elsewhere and bought the new bike, but not before I told him with a smile that he had a very unique way of doing business, In not so many words FU%& You! And gees, did I enjoy that!!! Haven't bought from him since, and keep in mind that I was a regular customer there too.

Sorry to hear about your woes but here's my .02. I live in SW Florida, been here only since 2000. The same guy owns the dealership in Ft. Myer and in Naples. Now, i don't ask for much but when i visit their stores i expect to be treated with respect. Didn't happen for almost 4 years. Recently they hired a new GM at Naples. Nice guy and the attitude of the entire dealership has changed dramatically.
Because I wouldn't deal with either of them i remained loyal to my dealership in OH where I have ALWAYS been treated like a king. I've bought three bikes from them and had them shipped to FL. Always at a price, including shipping, less than i would have had to pay here and even did the deals via email and telephone.
NOW THAT"S A DEALER! Who knows that "the customer is ALWAYS right" still holds true today.
Good luck with buying the bike, but don't look back..................IF I CAN'T GO UP, I AIN'T GOING!

OK.............here is the latest.
I have officially blown off the old dealer now.
I called another dealer in Ga. , but only 84 miles from me. Asked to speak to the sales manager. Told him the entire story. Down to the last detail. even the part about the $400.
He asked me what I wanted for my bike on trade.
I told him.
He said he could live with that, because that would allow him to sell it and make a few hundred profit. This guy was totally aboveboard on everything.
In the end I am saving about $2500 over the lost deal here in town.
My new Vivid Black RK Standard is on order, and I am taking him my bike this Saturday. The wife and I leave on a mission trip to Ukraine on the 25th of this month. We return on the 12th of July and my new bike will be waiting on me.

Be sure to ride by the other guy and show him your nice new bike when you get it and burn it in a bit by telling him what a great deal you got on it, maybe they'll wake up someday.

What I will do is show up there for all the HOG stuff and eat all the free hotdogs and BBQ.

The really cool thing is that this dealership is going to open a new branch in Opelika, which is even closer to me. That shop will open in August, and I can go there for service, etc.
That is only about 40 miles from me. A really nice ride on some good interstate.
