Unhappy Tear in seat

O.K. Guys, I got off my bike tonight after one of those 300 mile days, and I accidentally drug my foot on the seat and tore a hole in the vinyl. the hole is only about the size of a pencil eraser but I am afraid if it is left, it may become larger. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I NEED HELP!!

Clear fingernail polish will help stop the raveling, before it even starts.

Most good body shops/car lots have a guy who comes around and repairs seats. They are pretty resonable and their repairs are un-noticable.

Try an upholstery shop they should be able to fix it for you fairly cheap.

I worked in detail shops and auto body for a good bit when I was younger, this guys suggestion is fact. you wont notice the repair if done right and it will hold up. In my area the charge 45 - 65 but in my opinion it is well worth it. That being said I have also used the do it yourself kits and have had close to the same results but it takes practice to get it right. If you are going to attempt the repair yourself I suggest going to a fabrick store and getting close to the same material as your seat and practicing till you are happy with the result and then doing it to your scoot. good luck and let us know how it goes either way you go.

Since we have an upholstery expert here, let me ask a question about my seat. I have the Mustang seat for two, real nice seat. All the fabric is in good shape, but 3 buttons have popped off. Can a shop replace the 3 buttons without destroying the cover to get to them? I assume they can pull the staples out of one side on the bottom and work up to the missing buttons. What say you, scarpetta?

Thanx, RD
