there is actually a far better alternative to using a h.i.d. headlight. hella and cibie make glass headlight housings which accept the h-4 halogen bulbs. these are the E-code headlights, made for use in germany and france, where they drive on the right side of the road. they claim to put out 400% more light where you'll actually want it to be rather than scattered all over the place like our american headlights do. the hellas are made in germany and the cibies are made in france. they're about 40 bucks from susquehanna lighting, although if you'd prefer paying more, you could go to daniel stern lighting. they place the light down the center of your lane with a bit off to the right shoulder so you can watch out for those pesky wabbits.

I know for a fact that the e-code lights make our DOT lights look like junk. They even make my HID lights on the wife's car look like crap. The light pattern is so much better on them. Currently living in Germany so I get to see the difference every night.

HID kits suck without a projector to properly aim the light, and not blind oncoming drivers. I upgraded my car (already had projectors) to a 5000K HID kit, and swore I would never buy another car without them. Now I just bought a 1200 Sportster. Going from 2 HID lights to one standard is like driving in the dark. I need to upgrade. Checking out all of your links.... THANKS!

I just last night installed the single HID for low beam combined with the traditional halogen for high beam and it is the shiznit! You can see waaaaay on down the road. I got it here:
www.xenonlink.com

I ordered it on Monday and it was in my mailbox on Wednesday. Very easy to install, the hardest part i getting the fairing back on my Road Glide.

I run two single 35W h4 600K HID's in my gilde. There is no need for a bright with an HID IMO. I get mine off ebay for $32 a set. Plug and play.
