Funny, I've never changed mine and never had a leak. Changed all the fluids the other day and decided to replace all the o-rings with new. Now I drip a single drop overnight from the primary drain plug! I'm also a firm believer in teflon tape on the plugs.

I also use them twice unless damaged and have had no leaks, but I also have a set in my parts locker if one leaks.

Through info found here, I ordered a bunch for less than a dollar each. they were probably a better quality than the HD parts. At that price, would you actually take the chance to save a dollar or less? Not me.

On the 2010's its now EPA mandated that ALL o-rings be replaced per the Critical Fasteners Maintenance schedule!

Does anyone have the part numbers for the o-ring removal and installation tools? Also, is it necessary to remove the plugs to replace the o-rings or is there a way to replace them with the plugs still in the bike?

Haven't read all the previous posts but my guess is they've flamed you pretty good. My question would be: 'why would you want to risk it on a .20 part?'.

Buy the 100 pack and always change them out.
