Its kinda funny to see this post I have an 05 carbed Heritage with just under 14k miles sitting in the garage covered up since the Limited came to the house.

Been thinking of selling it, I have ridden it once in a month but just to fill it with gas.....

Who knows, it was my first Harley, but after the first 980mile 3-day ride on the Limited, I have to say my butt has gotten used to the new ride...

Decisions Decisions..........

+1 a 'Bar-Hopper' Chopper.

Actually you do understand the question. I live out of town across Mobile Bay so the ride is rough getting there from the wind. But in Mobile I didn't want a big bike.

Regardless, this is what I have decided. Going to drive the EGC to work etc.. Maybe do the tour pac and take the center bag off and save it for trips.

Any body ever put saddle bags on a Wide Glide as a bar hopper?

Not a Wide Glide, but a Softtail Standard. I have the Harley bags with the ghost brakets for quick disconnect. Also the detach sheild. I agree about the SG being great for around town. If it was me, I would not buy another fairing type bike, just set yours up like a SG if that is what you want.

One picture is worth a thousand words. I also owned a 2001 Heritage, and like the Glide much better. My 2 cents.

If I had a choice for a second ride it would be a Wide Glide. I test rode one and loved the forward controls- great ride! I ended up deciding on the Road King as it was more practical for riding with the missus. Plus, remove the shield and it truly is like riding a different bike.

I have an 08 Ultra and an 09 Sportster 1200C.
The Ultra is plush, but that Sporty sure is fun!
Detach windshield on the Sporty. It's nimble, quick and a ball to ride.
Great for around town, trips to the north GA mountains, etc.
And it sure as heck isn't a "girls bike".

Neither, I have 2 bikes and the Ultra always gets ridden. Seldom do I want to roll without comfort and tunes

Get the TP detach kit and you will have your 2 bikes in 1
