Okay, so a little off topic......You guess with the V&H Dresser duals...How do you like them? I am thinking about getting them and using my SE slip ons.

Love 'em. Using them with V&H classic straight cuts with bullet end caps. Sound is great, ride is great.

Fit and finish of my Dresser Duals is A+. I don't know if there's any difference in the power, I really haven't gotten on it too hard yet. It does seem to rev quicker, though. No noticeable torque loss like I was hearing about but that's only what the butt dyno tells me. You can really notice the absence of the heat from the right side. However, my SEII's got louder than I want, the tone even changed. I'm researching what slip-ons to change to. I need to spend some time at the dealer's hanging around to listen to some bikes with different muffs before I make a change.

Did you use a torque wrench to tighten it up? How tight is one turn?

And yes, it's very tight. Now I'm concerned that they're too tight.
Is that possible? If I possibly over-tightened them, but didn't break anything, is that still OK?

NO I did not use a torque wrench.

I posted above about V&H saying just to snug them until tight. I couldn't get a good fit on the wrench on the rear flange nuts so I know that those are just snug and not overtightened. The ones one the front are fairly tight. I am just going to check them every so often and not worry about it.

Use a 1/4" drive socket with a torque wrench, and torque to spec's in the service manual. I don't remember off the top of my head what the specs our,Sorry. If you can't get the 1/4" drive socket to fit you may need to losen up the heat shield and slide it out of the way. That's what I had to do on my 2-1 Thunderheader. If you torque it down to the correct spec you should never have to worry about them again.

The flange will usually distort if the exhaust bolts are overtightened. I learned the hard way on a Softail. It was not fun trying to get the exhaust off after that, but it did come off with some persuasion.
