HD really needs to come out with that FLTRU in 2011. Maybe we can get a group together to ride to Moco and park outside to drop a big hint!
Black is beautiful. I like your blacked out front end and luggage rack. I went the other way but I like chrome. Probably make a great picture with our bikes side by side. Kind of the Yin and Yang of Road Glides.

BTW, I like those wheels. What are they?

Hadn't thought about the yin/yang thing, but that is right on.

The rims are Roland Sands Mission rims. Wanted something that was easy to clean and easy to access the valve stem, unlike the factory rims.

I have replaced my Ultra Electra Glide with the 2009 Road Glide.
I too am making it into an Ultra type.
Here is how it looks so far.

I have just gotten an Air Horn to replace the weak electric Harley Horn.
It will be delivered by UPS in the morning and I will put it in place.

Rear View. Antennas are inside the Fairing.

Front view. Notice the Lower Vents as well as the Kuryakyn Lights.

Better view of the vents and lights.

I didn't like the Head set that was stuck to the Fuel tank, So I used the Ultra Dash with the
Head Set Plug in the center. The Passenger Head set is along the Rear Fender so
I can use the Detachable Tour Pak.

This is the Inner Fairing set up. I moved the Speedometer Reset Switch and
installed a Kuryakyn Double switch. Also note the Satellite Radio.

This is the Lower Storage box with the Harley Locking Door installed. Harley doesn't have the
Doors for the Non-Vented FLTR Lowers. I modified the boxes to accept the Vented Locking doors.

How does it looks so far? I am still adding Accessories and Chrome.
I have a Big Sucker Air Cleaner and hope to get new Mufflers soon.
I also plan to add the Luggage rack, Tour Pak Trim and J&M 7.25" Speakers.
I am working on the Tour Pak Speakers too.

Looks great! Curious as to why you didn’t mount the passenger intercom in the rear speaker pods? I would like to see HD sell an "Ultra" RG

To me the new RGs are little more than heavy weight bar hoppers. I ride between 18 and 24K miles a year, mostly on two lane state highways. With that little windshield and no standard cruise control, well that just says to me that HD doesn’t understand the market or that I may be looking for a different bike in a couple years.

I still have the detachable Tour Pak. If I used the speakers to mount the Passenger headset plug, they would loose the plug and volume switch when the Tour Pak was removed.

Nice bikes. I'll have to look to see if I have any pics of 02 Diamond Ice RG in Ultra mode. Tour pak is off for the summer right now. I put it on for trips with the wife and winter to store my full helmet.

Two questions. How much do the Kury driving lights help at night (my ride to work is always in the dark)? And Ultra89, what is the double switch you refer to in your post?

Thanks.

When I did the intercom install, I didn't have the speakers on the bike. The location is where the instructions call for. Funny thing is that I was just at the dealer yesterday looking at the pod location. I'll have to figure out how to make it removable because I often take my tourpak off.

Looks awesome, but who's the weird little dude with no legs that is reflecting in the tourpak?
