Default PCV problem

Have had my PCV installed for about 1500 miles. Always ran great, although it was hard to start once in awhile.

I was out today on a ride and the RG started acting up. The bike would act like it was going to stall then start back up (I could see the tach drop to no RPMs then come back to life), would get backfires from the pipes and as the issue became worse, it would quit when I came to a light.

Managed to get it to Laconia Harley, the tech removed the PCV, hooked the factory ECM back up and she runs as good as ever now. Made it home with no more issues.

Anyone have any ideas? I have an email into Jamie but thought I would pick brains here too. Unfortunately I don't have a laptop to connect to see if I could find anything.

Moisture at the connector terminals. Apply just a bit of dieletric grease and put it back together. Should be fine.

Spoke with Jamie about the problem this morning. Jamie stated he thought it may be water. Told me to blow out the connectors with compressed air, tweak the ground pin slightly with needle nose pliers and apply dielectric grease.

I did everything except the dielectric (auto parts store was closed) reinstalled the PCV and fired it up. Took it for a ride and everything seems good again. THANKS Jamie!!

I have another question about the dielectric grease now. Should I coat just the pins on the connector, or fill the whole thing up to fill in any voids to prevent any water from getting into the connector?

fill it up to prevent water intrusion, then wipe off the excess from the outside once you hook it up.
