The tire blew in the rain tread, nice gash about 4" long...

Thank God my daughter and I were going 25 mph down Hwy 84 and ended up at Woodside School.....

I will have to bite the OEM 407 Harley BS, as I want to ride this weekend !!!

Make sure to use lots of Redline Hi-Temp grease or Antiseize on the axle...

I changed out my 2009 rear tire just last weekend. I did not have to remove the saddle bag chrome guards but I did slip off the mufflers. And yes, I use a hydraulic jack. You are right about not being able to buy another brand of tire for the D407 that Harleys come equipped with for 2009. I have ridden a lot of different brand of tires in 47 years of riding and I have not found one to be better than the D407 rear. I had over 25,000 miles on that puppy when it removed it. That is more than double of anything I have had in the past. I like it. For once you can believe the Harley ads when they say it wears better. As far as using a lot of grease and anti seize on the axle shaft. There is no reason to go overboard here. A very small amount of anti seize is called for on the length of the shaft but no grease at all.
