It still works when your leaning its just safer to be upright so that when you come to a sudden shorter than expected stop you dont fall over!

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I should of figured it was BS,

The salesmen that sold me my bike told me several times "remember even though you have ABS it wont work if you are in a turn cause the bike needs to be upright so just keep riding straight if you need to stop suddenly" I told him that didnt seem logical and his reply was there was some type of sensor..sheesh....

This is also the same guy that told me not to get a power commander cause they were being stolen from peoples bikes while parked at events and such. he said all it takes is a screw driver and they are in and out with the unit.

Interesting stat. Apparently bikes with ABS are 37% less likely to be involved in a fatal crash than the same model sans ABS.

I'm glad this was posted. I get tired hearing about people that think they can out brake the ABS system either on our bikes or cars.

I've had ABS on a couple of my BMWs, and I wouldn't buy a new bike without it. After a while, you forget about the ABS and just get used to your bike not needing so much room to stop. Even on my non-ABS '04 RK, I'm more worried about being hit from behind than I am about running in to someone.

ABS is one of the reasons I bought my Limited.

I'm just wondering when one of the anti-ABS forums members will jump in and try to refute the report above!

Getting ABS is the ONLY reason that I would like to have a new Ultra!

Me neither. I wonder when HD will take ABS down to the Softail and Dyna models? It is already on the VROD, so they know how to make it work on a smaller frame.

I bought a 2010 FLTRX with ABS because I wanted it. I'm finding that it kicks in way too often when splitting lanes and needing to stop while going over Bots Dots. Feels like the bike is lurching forward, rather than stopping, as expected. Kinda scary sometimes!

Please don't speak the truth ,it will only get you in trouble.
