Default RK v. RG

I currently own an 05 FXDI (Superglide) that I love, but the wife says it's not big enough for her. I'm torn between the Roadglide and Roadking. The Roadglide seems to give you more for your money, but you guys have me scared that the radio is going to quit as I pull out of the dealership. Also, the Roadglide that I rented had the stock windshield which deflected all of the air onto the top of my helmet. That wore out my neck in a hurry. I wear a full face helmet, and my FXDI has no windshield, so airflow doesn't usually bother me. The problem was that all of the air was directed right at my head. The things I dislike about the Roadking are all of the fender trim and the big turn signals. Yes, I know about the Custom, but those bags aren't waterproof. I guess my questions are:

1. How does the 4" black wind deflector behave?
2. Is the radio really as troublesome as this forum makes it out to be?

Thank you in advance.

The black 4" deflector is non-functional. The radio needs some downloads.....at least some do from what I've seen on this forum. HD makes a taller windshield than stock and a shorter windshield than stock. Or, you can buy a Clearview shield on line. I have the medium GT and it is perfect for me.......I look 2 "over it, wear an Arai Profile or a 3/4 helmet....and it's pretty quiet behind it...no buffeting.
RoadGlide is my choice for touring.........on my second one.

Well you want have to worry about the radio on the road king, it will never sound good cruzing down the road, or give you weather updates LOL, and you can pull the windshield off and think your on a super glide again, The roadglide is what I choose, 07 on its way, you can buy roadglide windshields on ebay in many different sizes brand new for less than 50.00, Ive had em all and you get wind with all, adjust it to fit you, believe me, your head getting a little wind beats your whole body getting it all the time.

I've got an 06 RG and it's the most comfortable, stable bike I've ever ridden. I've had no issues with the radio (knock wood) and as has been mentioned, you can find all kinds of different windshield heights to suit you. Don't let either of those two issues prevent you from considering a Road Glide.

I disagree. I have ridden my FXDI for 17 hours in a day. Wind all over is normal to my, but all of it on the head wears me out.

Don't rule out a Streetglide if you're lookin' for some style! Awesome stereo and custom features.
