Race Tuner with dyno for new Duals question
Ok..another post on this. As mentioned in other posts, tomorrow my SG get's VH Dresser Duals. The Service team said they would dyno and use the race tuner to get my bike where it needs to be with the new pipes. Is this a SERT? For $375 I'm curious to know what kind of race tuner is being used. I realize I can ask when I take it in tonight but curious to hear from others who have gone this route when installing their dual pipes.
Thanks

I would guess that it would be the SERT. In my experience in talking to dealers they usually refer to the SERT as a race tuner and the Power Commander as just that or a PC, etc. You can get a PCIII for less than $375. I would ask and request the PCIII if available.

Yes, the race tuner is SERT (Screaming Eagle Race Tuner). It's made by Harley. Some other folks also use Power Commander III (PCIII) and are quite happy with it. I, personally, like the SERT. Because it's maps your stock ECM and has no module to be mounted on the bike.
Both SERT and PCIII can be used in the future whenever you decide to upgrade your engine to either the 95 or 103ci.
Caution: don't let the dealer talk you into doing that Stage I download for $149. It's a waste of money. Have it dyno'd with either the SERT or the PCIII. Make sure that you change your air intake as well to either the Stage I or Ness Big Sucker when you do your pipes.

Thanks Guys! Already gone 95" with SE 203's and Stage II, (I guess) so, they'll just do the SERT and be done with it I guess. I don't plan on doing any more motor upgrades to this bike. I'm thrilled with how it runs..in many ways better than my carb'd Fatboy with SE Heads, 95", Thunderheader and Gear drive cams with TH exhaust.
