Default 06 RK Cam Tensioner Pics

I have 20k on my 06 FLHRI
On June 12th I'm taking a road trip, CT to TN to AZ to SD and back to CT.
Did my 20k service two weeks ago, had a few more things I wanted to check on the bike, inspecting the tensions was one of them.

I'm posting the links to Photo bucket so they can be viewed in a larger size.

Cam Tensioners 2

Cam Tensioners 3

From other threads I've read and pics that I've seen, mine look pretty good to me. (But I swing a hammer for a living)
Would you take a 6 to 8000 mile road trip with these tensioners?

The outside one is hardly worn at all and I wouldn't worry about it, can't tell what that inside one looks like. They always have those little pits in them so that's not a problem.

Not terrible, but you may as well change them while you got it apart. I know it is extra work, but getting that damn exhaust on and off is the hardest part.

I run my old oil through a strainer and cut my filter open every oil change (3000 miles) to look for orange plastic. I've only found a few very small chips. Still I'm going to visually check them very soon.

According to the service manual they look fine. Worn less than 50% and no cracks. I hope mine look that good.

No.
With all those voids, who's to say they wont crack or chip more?
And on your trip, you would probly be worried about them!

I went gear drive around 20k. Mine looked about like yours. You can go with the new hydraulic setup, but would still have tensioners.

Which gear drive did you go with?

If I went through the trouble to inspect them.I would just go head and change them and be done with it.
