Default Do you have to change Lower Brake Lines on 13" Ape Install?

I got a 2008 Street Glide. I am putting on 13" apes by Cyclesmiths. I know that I need to get +8 on the clutch cable. I am putting on black brake lines. I do not have ABS. Do I have to change my lower lines and assembly, or can I just keep the stock lowers and assembly, then just purchase the extension for Upper Brake Line? Everybody is awesome on here by the way! I mean everyone!

Just need the upper one. The lower one stays the same. PM me with any other questions.
I did the same set up on my old bike and I did the work myself.

isn't your front brake line one piece from the master to the "y" down to the caliper?

I thought he had abs but he doesn't. He wants to know if you can remove the piece from the Y to the bars.

The instructions (clear as mud) show the upper brake line disconnect just above the "Y" connection. As shown on my 08 SG (non ABS) this is not the case. So it appears the upper and lower have to changed out as one unit. The service manual makes no mention, or pic of a disconnect between the upper and lower either.

Just finished the install. Yes you have to replace both the upper and lower. Plus it looks better to have all the same type of lines (braided, black, etc.). The stock upper isn't long enough to look good and its tight. So, the moral of the story? Spend the extra bucks. Thanks again to all who replied to my post!

Upper and lowers are one piece. You will have to replace the whole assembly. Nevermind I see you already did it.
