Default Whats your volt meter read?

I've noticed that the volt meter on my 09 SG seems to always read around +16 when I'm on the road.

Is this something I should be concerned about? Is is this pretty 'standard'?

Thanks guys.

That's way out of spec. Mine runs 13.2V almost without variance and I would expect 13-14.5V as the norm when the engine is turning 1500 rpm or more. The first thing I would do is do a check at the battery while the bike is running at 2k rpm using a known-good voltmeter. If that shows 16V I would check the VR next. If it shows normal voltage while the bike's gauge shows higher, the latter would be suspect.

Them gauges ain't always the most accurate beasts, I'd check with the volt meter as previously stated.

Thanks guys
I suspected it might be out of the norm.
I need the tank recall done, so I'll just have the dealer check it out.
