I'll try this again. According to the parts manager at my local dealership, he says that all you need is the wheel installation kit for your specific model bike. I was wanting to do the same thing when I need a new front tire.
It will fit..as the dealer stated you will need the correct axle for your year. I have a 08 and it was a direct bolt on. I'm not sure what size axle you will need but I'm sure the dealer will assit you. I brought my wheel and tire from a member here for $200.00 plus shipping and the dealer installed it for 1/2 hr. labor. Just make sure the wheel you buy is ABS or non ABS wheel.
