Question about Fuel Management system for 2010 Street Glide.
Do you really have to do the Fuel management system when doing pipes or air cleaner? With fuel injection and the O2 sensors, shouldn't the computer adjust for any lean circumstance? I have new exhaust on the way and have the SE air cleaner along with the power commanderV system already but just wanted to ask the experts. Thanks in advance.

rule of thumb is YES...
if not for anything but to keep the heat down...
depending on the exhaust you're getting, the changes you're making will allow the bike to breathe much better.
the computer can't compensate for such a big change in airflow, that's why you need the tuner.
plus you'll get more power as a benefit!
I went with the TTS MasterTune..

The O2 sensors and such only work during the closed loop range. This is typically somewhere between idle and WOT. With the pipe and air cleaner change your ECM will manage your AFR just fine between say 2500 and 4000 RPM, but it returns to open loop conditions (think of it as pre programmed AFR guesses) below the bottom end RPM range and at WOT. The open loop areas of the fuel map are where you'll get your dangerously lean conditions. This is my understanding of modern fuel management systems. Someone please correct me if I'm way off.
