The '09 and newer bikes are a bit heavier due to the new frame, but worthwhile tradeoff IMO

09 also has lower overall gearing making the 6th gear more usable. the 09 being black makes it a no brainer, ha

Since I have put almost 10K on my '09 I'd have to say that's the way to go. The new frame rocks.

All the hype about the new 09 frames is over blown. I like my 08 better. To me it handles better through the tight turns and is just as stable. I didn't like the crossover pipe running underneath. left the left side unbalanced looking. Ride them all and you decide, it's your money. JMO
You are either very high or you had a bum 09... my 07 FLHRCI with the older frame didn't even come close to the stability and cornering of this 10 limited.

I say get the 09.. too bad it didn't have the ABS option because then it would totally be a no brainer!

LOL, I have had a few beers tonight. I liked my 09, but I like the 08 better. I'm almost 68, I don't ride hard anymore. after buying the 09 kinda too quick, I started thinking about stopping and my reflex's slowing down. Plus I'm married to a beautiful Lady who loves to ride with me. I looked for an 09 with ABS. Everyone I found, they wanted a ton for them. I looked hard at the 2010 Limited, but didn't like the Cat's in head pipes. A friend of mine who lives in Florida called me and told me this guy had lost his job and wanted to sell his 08 UC 105th anni. It only had 4400 miles on it. I had a guy who wanted my 09. the rest is history. I'm not kicking the 09's. But to be honest, I don't see the big difference people talk about the frame. I've rode Motorcycles all my life. Raced them back in the 70's. I'm into comfort and cruising these beautiful mtns in Tn. As long as I can!!! Ride Safe!!!

Did you say something about the cats in the 10.. do people leave their exhaust stock? I couldn't ever do that! I do think that my 07 might have been a bit more comfortable, but I really enjoy that i can whip this 900+ pound whopper of a bike around in the corners.. that to me is pretty cool. I do mostly ride around like you do and put around the back scenic roads, I just like being able to do both types of riding when I want to.

I do really like the paint scheme on your bike.. very cool and will probably keep the value up on that bike for a long time to come.

Take care, Ralph

Default Thanks for the input

Since I'm new at this not certain if this is the place to put this but here goes. After reading all your great feed back I went out today and bought the 08 Anniversary. Sat on the 09 but the 08 felt lower and just better, plus like the two tone ( Duracell ) colors. Plus ended up getting a better price and after getting the boss to agree to getting back into ridding every penny counts, plus insurance was lower and here in Canada ( 1300 ) every bit helps. Once again thanks for all the great input. Rallyrat

Good thing you saved some money, you'll need that for mods.

Congratulations. Now post some pics.

Enjoy your bike.. you'll love it even though you won't be able to fly through the curves like I can! :P
