Hmm, I love the tone of my MO's, but actually wish they were a bit quieter.

To each their own.

 

A friend of mine has that set up and his bike isnt very loud at all.

 

at this time, no matter what you get it is gonna be quiet. if you want to wake up the sound, you are gonna have to get rid of the headpipe with the cat in there.

before you give up on the monster ovals, maybe you should hear what they sound like on a true dual system minus the cat.

I like my MO's but I can see where they may not be all that for everyone. I wanted to hear the radio in this bike so I didn't want them super loud. With the cams in there and 10,000 miles on them they have gotten louder.

 

Vance and hines stated the monster ovals are the quietest out of the crew i run slip ons and they pack a good tone but go with big shots to get more sound, what ever suits your fancy.

 

I run the Rush 2 1/4 slip-ons, they have a very nice deep rumble and after a few thousand miles, cams, and some dyno runs, the packing burns out a little and they growl real good runnin through the R's. I don't think they are the loudest, but they are not too far off.. Good luck

P.S. The cat in the head pipe is going to make a big difference in sound.. True duels on a dresser??? I have been told, you will lose low end torque. Many dyno guys are saying the stock 09 head pipes retain the backpressure just enough to keep the low end torque up, especially with the wide open mufflers that I have.... But then again, what's low end torque got to do with you blasting past your buddy that thinks his bike is faster? JMO

 

I had MO's on my 05 with true duals liked them so well that I put them on the limited with power duals they are significantly louder.
