Default SE Clutch Spring Question

I just had a dyno tune and the tuner said I had some clutch slippage at higher rpm's and at wot. Can I add the Screaming Eagle clutch spring to my stock clutch or do I need the whole SE clutch kit? Any other ideas would be welcome as well. "06 ultra, stage 1 with Andrews 26g cams. Also, how much pull does the spring add to the lever pull?

Yes, it will work with your stock plates. It does add some lever pull. Not sure how to quantify it, but it seems to get a little better after a couple thousand pulls (or your arm gets to look like Popeye).

Another option would be a VPC unit from AIM. You could use that with the stock spring and it should stop your slippage. More $$, but it's a good piece.

I added the VPC unit and it did stop the slipage. I still have the same easy pull clutch spring that you have on your 06. To add extra clamping force, I may go with the 04 and earlier stock spring which has I believe 240 lbs clamping pressure vs. 180 for the easy pull spring. If your clutch has already been slipping, your plates might be glazed. I think mine might be. If I'm pulling my primary cover off (which you don't have to do to add the VPC unit or spring), rather than deglaze my plates, I might go with kevlar.

Put in the spring - you'll be happy you did. Consensus on this forum is that it will either fit through the derby cover or it won't. Mine wouldn't ('06 SG) and I had to remove the outer primary. Took a little longer but it was a pretty basic install and my 100+ hp motor doesn't slip the clutch anymore.
