Default Screaming Eagle Fatshotz and sound

I have a 2010 Ultra with stock headers and SE Fatshotz with the discs. Look like the Supertrapp pipes for comparison. The tone at idle is great but there is no volume. I understand I have cats in the headers so I am wondering if this pipe has the ability to get some volume if I remove the cats or go with a different header like the Fuel Moto. I like the looks of the pipes but I want more volume. What are your recommendations? Might just go with the Fuel Moto headers and Fatcats... Anyone here try the Fuel Moto carbon fiber looking pipe?

The cats are defenitely the reason your bike is still quiet. I have the same set up as you.

Go to thread "DRILL BABY DRILL? 2010 cat issues...." in Touring... It's pretty much what you are talking about.

I have the Fatshotz on my '09 (no cat). They sound great, but they aren't loud at all.

I have the nightstick on my 2010 RGC with the open end cap like the one on the fatshotz. Sound is OK at speed but the idle is laughable. Just for fun I pulled the nightstick off and started the bike. Not much difference, a little more sound but not much. Normally that would have shook the plaster of my ceiling but since I have a CAT , the pipe is stuffed up. That little test shown me how badly that CAT has to come out, or buy a pipe.
