I agree, but with my medical problems this sort of support may give me another 5 years+ riding. What would you do?

jeff.....i'm intrigued by those that subscribe to the "cool trumps function/comfort" camp. personally, the few modifications that have been made to my bikes have followed the same tenet....comfort....if it keeps me in the saddle a little longer, i'm for it.

check with forum member "glide2005" on this modification.....his bike is set-up for solo riding, with the tourpak mounted forward.

good luck on whatever decision you make.

Curious, but wouldn't the quickest, easiest, and probably cheaper solution for a 2010 RK to have the Tour Pak mounted in the solo rider position simply be the

53260-09A - Solo Tour-Pak Rack
54205-09 - 4 point docking hardware

?

The quick-slide mod above looks cool, but it also looked to leave some rails sticking out behind the tour pak when it's slid up into the solo position.

I think all you need is the 2 pin harness for the solo tourpack position.

+1 Phurion. I ordered both position mounts when I built my Tour Pak. Works great with a solo seat and passenger pillon. Four nuts and bolts changes it from two-up to solo and it leaves the bike looking decent, so I get form and function.

Thanks for the part numbers. I would love to see one but here in Adelaide they are few and far between. Maybe search some photos on this site. Again, many thanks.

If you could/can do that on an ultra classic, that pretty much cures the reason I never gave an ultra much consideration. Looks functional, comfortable and IMO better than an empty back seat and tour pak.

A good rider back rest. The solo tour pack is not close enough to use as your back rest unless your about 6'3" or above. There is actually enough space to put a solo seat backrest in between you and the tour pack.

On the Legends hardware it says that there is a 2" adjustment, but thankyou for your input. I never gave the space dimensions any thought. I really need to find one and sit on it now. This is why these sort of forums work.

Go Well

Jeff
