tour pak is gone
#2
I know. What a difference. My last two Harley's were Ultra Glides. I thought I could not live without my Tour Pak. When my Ultra was totaled, I saw my chance to get a new Road Glide and use some of the parts I had stashed in the Attic of the garage. I took delivery and started to work to fix my older Tour Pak to fit the new ride. I had a chance to go back east just after I took delivery. I just didn't have the Tour Pak ready. So I went without it. I learned to pack like I used to when I rode back in the 70s.
I also love to ride to work. When I did using my Ultra, I would fill it with any and everything. With the new RG, I had to take only what I needed. I found that I was taking so much stuff I didn't need. I now have the Tour Pak to take on long trips. I did change the seat to one of those "Reach" Seats.
Or if I need to transport something big. Other than that, I just leave it sitting in the garage and enjoy the ride.

I have an '09 Classic and I'm thinking of just removing my Tour Pak. Anybody done this? My wife is waaaay too scared to ride, my son just got his own bike (YAY!), so it's time for me to go solo. Anybody pulled one off?

Pull it off, you won't regret it. The only thing I miss about it solo riding is storage for my helmet when on the road. The bike will handle better without the extra weight on top.
