Wind differences between the Street Glide and Road Glide???

So true Dirt! I can't stand it, but I am not forking over anymore money on windshields. KW stuck me hard enough . I bought goggles to deal with it. I did buy that air baffle thing someone here told me about . Didn't do $hit. I actually think it made it worse.

I have the 12in Windvest and purchased the front fork air baffle. No complaints at all. I also have the tall boy seat and it pushed my sitting position about a inch back. My dealer was nice enough to let me try out the Klockwerks 12 inch. It worked great, I like the looks of the Windvest more.

I'm 6'0 and with the stock windshield, the buffeting on my Road Glide was unbearable. It hit me square in the forehead. If I ducked down a few inches it was real quiet. I added a taller Clearview and all is well in my world now. At 5'8" you may be OK with the stock shield. If not, a change over to a better shield will run less than $200. I never road a Street Glide but had two Ultras before this and I needed to cut the shield down on them for a good view. The wind was very quiet behind the batwing.
Whichever bike you get you are likely going to have to dial it in to fit. I'll bet the stock handlebars on the Road Glide won't fit you very well either. If you like the looks of the Road Glide, then that's the bike for you. Just budget in a few hundred more if you have to change out a few items to make it a perfect fit for you.

I hear ya one the ear problems too. I wear earplugs any time the ride is more than a few miles.

I had one of them baffles that I had put on my SG and put it on the other day. I don't know that it made it worse, but I sure didn't make it any better. My left saddlebag is about a 1/4 full of glasses and goggles to deal with the wind. I got my Klock off ebay from Henley Customs in Indiana. I think it was $142 or $148 with free shipping. Still too much for a damn piece of plastic!

I love the Road Glide and certainly plan on getting one soon. I guess I will wait for the 2011's to make my decision.
The wind is also my big issue. I like the lowers but these crazy windshields bum me out. I have no problem with a simple clean windshiled, but the ones that guys need for protection concern me. They look like a crazy troll-doll to me....HAHAHAHA. I hope that is not what I have to do to get the protection.
The bike is so cool, I would still do it. But I hope there is a better option then Trollin' around....

Listen, you gotta replace that non-windshield on the new Rg. I reccomend the windvest, looks great and is quieter and offers better protection than any shield I've tried on any of my RG's and I have been riding them since 01. With windvest, no buffeting and it's very nice looking. KW is pretty slick looking but barely more protection than the stock 010 also very turbulent and noisey!
Get a windvest on a RG and be HAPPY! I am 5'11" with 32 inseam and the 12 inch is perfect for me.
