Quite right! I had it on my lovely new 1977 BMW R100RS. Parked it while I opened the garage, a strong gust of wind lifted the bike enough for the stand to fold, then it fell onto the same side - wrecked the fairing, handlebars, tank.....

I modified the darned stand so it went over-centre and couldn't do it again. Expensive insurance job to get the poor bike repaired.

Guys, great response on my first question on this forum.
i hope I was clear: want to do something with minimal costs and effort just to pass the test. I will reverse the bike back to original once i am round the corner.
thats why i prefer a couple of euros extra spring that is mounted in 5 mins opposite of ordering a switch, do all the wiring,...hope the thing works....and then never use it again.

Guess a spring still cheaper (and easier to get in Netherlands) than a center stand...although I like that suggestion as well.

Indeed I have the concern that with the spring on, the guy who is doing the tests will drop the bike if he tries to park it...but hey, it is their rules so he should know...

again, thanks for the suggestions

Ron

Isn't the kick stand on the right side on Euro models?

Except here in the UK, Europe drives on the wrong side of the road, like you all in the USA! They park the same way round too....
