Im thinking about getting a new seat also and was wandering if the mustang is better choice than corbin on a 03 EG
I've had both, and prefer the Corbin. I felt like the Mustang was pushing me up too close to the tank, and I liked the Corbin's down and back seating position better. Once the seat is broken in (and it takes a couple of months), it feels like it's custom made for your butt.
Generally it seems like folks like one or the other. There's no right or wrong, only what works best for you.
Both are good seats..The different butts will have different comments. One thing is for sure if you buy both you won't have any trouble getting rid of it if you don't like it. you may take a little hit on the price but you will get most of your money back.
You spend enough on either one so that people will tend to defend their choice. I had a Mustang seat on my last bike and, after it was broken in, it was wonderful.
It all boils down to preference. The corbin's are a little harder than the mustang's. Both are a huge improvement over stock. I should be getting my mustang solo next week. I have had them on other bikes in the past and they were great. I am hoping this one will be as the past ones were.
Here is a photo of the mustang seat installed. It is a big seat compared to the stock RG seat. I also changed my shark cover to one that matches the OEM knuckles wheels.
Seat looks great! I had a Mustang on my previous bike (Suzuki C90), and you couldn't beat both the seating position (nice and low) and comfort...
I currently have the Harley Sundowner Deep bucket seat on my 2008 FLHTP... I am taking my first long trip with it this coming week... we shal see if there may be a Mustang upgrade in my future.
