Default Garmin Nuvi GPS

It appears that a lot of you are using a Garmin Nuvi GPS for navigation. My question is how water resistant are they? Have you done anything special to seal them up? Have you ridden through rain with them?

I just keep a baggy handy with a thin piece of velcro tie wrap. When it rains I bag it. Never a problem even through days of downpours.

I've ridden through some light rain with my Nuvi and didn't have any problems. I have since switched to a Zumo 550 so don't have any long term results.

This is my third year on my Nuvi 760. Never a problem. Like others I carry a baggy for rain. But if it rains, I take it off. I usually don't need it that bad in a rainstorm. And if it's raining hard....I'm parked.

The Nuvi 550 is waterproof and can be found fairly cheap. I only use mine in the rain on battery which is not bad since the battery lasts 4-5 hours. Not the biggest screen, not many bells and whistles, but I like the battery life and that its waterproof. Yes I've ridden in the rain with it not a problem, there is a attatched rubber cover for the USB port.

I have the HD branded Zumo 550. No problems and it has been in some serious rain more than once.

Zip lok bags doing just fine by me. Been through some pretty hard showers too. Have hit it by mistake a few times washing the bike. Wiped it off and still working.
