Does the klock werks windshield solve the buffiting on the Street Glide?

I have a 2009 Street Glide and I have been battling the world of windshields. I am 6'5" with a C&C seat that moved me back 3 inches and down 1 inch from the stock seat. As the stock 4" is horrible but looks good. The 7" HD Windsplitter is garbage compared to the 6.5" Klock Werks. The 11.5" Klock Werks isn't appealing and doesn't seem to be all that great but its better than the HD stock 12". The 6.5" Klock Werks is the best out of the windshields that I mentioned but I am feeling the 8.5" Klock Werks will do the job and ordering it very soon. The Klock Werks shields look nice and are very effective at redirecting the wind.

I am 6ft and on my 14 sgs with the kw8.5 I can light cigarettes at 65 mph no problem. The kw6.5 and 7in wind splitter are too small in my opinion . The only thing is the vent on fairing has to be OPEN. The second I shut it the whole bike changes for the worse. I am much happier with this new fairing over my 12sg. Also get the mid frame deflector it works darn good.

I have an Ultra Limited, I hated the stock shield because I had to look through it, I do not like looking through a wind shield just personal preference. I'm 6'0 with a 32" inseam, the seat is stock, so is the suspension. My bike came with the adjustable wind deflectors on the fairing, and obviously the lowers. I bought a Klockwerks 8.5" windshield on the cheap from a fellow forum member and I am perfectly happy with it. The wind does catch the top of my fore head, but no big deal, same as with the stock shield on my Road King that I had before. The fairing is much more stable at higher speeds with the Klockwerks as well, and my gas mileage improved believe it or not. I guess I got lucky on the first try. Oh and did I mention that the bike looks a million times better now lol.
You're height plays into it a lot, but so does your seat. If you have a good dealer, they will let you test ride a couple of different shields before you buy something.

I had the exact same issue when I got my Street Glide in 2010. I replaced the stock screen with one just 2" taller (you can hardly see the difference unless you put them side-by-side), and that made a huge difference. The second thing that finally solved the problem altogether was the air baffle (part #58520-79TC that mounts between the forks (bolts to the bottom triple tree). They used to be standard.

Buffeting
I have an 09 SG. I noticed right from the start the wind was coming up from between the tank and fairing. I installed what are now called fork fangs from an aftermarket company. Problem solved and the bike tracks better than any other bike I've had.

My friend put a 6 1/2" on his Street Glide. I tried it out one day and liked it better than stock for sure. I decided to install an 8 1/2" Klock Werks on my 2015 Street Glide. Honestly, I got more wind from the 8 1/2 than he did with the 6 1/2. There seemed to be more buffeting with the 8 1/2". I tried several things, vent open, vent closed etc but nothing helped.
I installed and 6 1/2" like my friend. I think I get less wind on me and a know the buffeting decreased.
I s it great? No. But definitely better than stock.

So those that have a 2015 with the fairing vent, does this seem to eliminate the buffeting? My buddy has a 2015 and he is 6'2" and doesn't have a problem with buffeting. I'm 6' with a 30" inseam. I know all torso. My 1/2 helmet is thick and could be part of the problem. I'm thinking of adding on a set of fork wind deflectors on my 2011 Electra Glide. I've used a few of the HD demo windshields and the buffeting was terrible.

H-D chrome 'fangs' work well. Windshields usually don't help with the buffeting, because its the lower wind coming upwards that causes head buffeting. I had a 7 inch LRS shield as well as the stock SGS ws. 5'10'' 31 inseam.
I could not ride my sled above 55 mph until i installed the H-D fangs. Now no buffeting to speak of.
