Default Factory Dunlop's milage

I was wondering what kind of milage everyone is getting out of their factory dunlops. Also list your tire pressures. I got 8,600 out of my first rear tire at 40 psi, still good on the front tire, with 38 psi.

Do a search on this subject.......it's been flogged to death. But I think you'll find the average for the rear is 11,000 miles and the front is around 28,000. 38 psi seems to be the norm.....some run 40. Never wait until they are near-slicks........tires are cheap.

you can increase your rear mileage by not using your rear brake every time you apply brakes. anticipate stoplight changes, pull the clutch in a coast up to the light using the brakes as gingerly as possible. you really only need the rear brake for near panic stops and maybe in a parking lot at very slow speed where the front brake can throw you off balance. the new MU85s have deeper tread and are going to almost 15K now. if you can find someone who can fill your tires with nitrogen you can expect 15 to 20 % more mileage too as they run cooler. heat is the real enemy of tires at highway speeds.

15,023 on the rear. It should have been replaced a few K's miles sooner. I'm at 21,900+ miles on the front, checked it this weekend and the tread is at 4/32-5/32. Pressure is 36 front and 40 rear on the Dunlops. With the Metzler on the rear now I run 44-45 psi in it.

I got 16,000 out of original rear tire. I have 21,000 miles on front with a lot of tread left. It is no where near worn out. I run 40 rear and 36 front.

I usually get 10,000 on the rear and twice that on the front. The rear on my new EG Classic just went 11,500 and still had tread left, but we were leaving for a long trip and so I changed earlier than I normally would have.

Regards,

Bill
