my check engine lite and the little red battery came on i got it home to check to see if its charging and no it was at 11.8 at 2000 rpms.i charge the battery up .when the bike is cold i started it up and its at 14. it stays there for about an hour of driving then it stops charging again .once the bike cools down it charges again.and key off volts read 12.65 key on it goes too 11.9. any ideas would be great. thanks

 

Need to do a complete charging systen check.

 

something is opening up when heated up. closing back when cooled off. continuity check of stator is where i'd start.
