Anti-sieze is your friend here. Even if you change out to Allen head (internal socket) screws. The dealer probably removed the derby to adjust and then re-installed using loctite. And they seem to be very fond of the red stuff which loosens at 400 degrees.
If you have a 1/4-20 tap clean the loctite out of the threads on the outer primary and use a dab of anti-sieze on the new screws.
Personally I use anti-sieze on everything I service regularly. And blue is the only color of loctite I have in my shop.

I use blue loctite on everything EXCEPT the derby cover. Anti-sieze for that thing! If you don't have an impact driver like mentioned in an earlier post, just use a 1/4 nut driver with your torx and lightly tap the end of the nutdriver while turning it left to loosen the bolts. With some patience and a few cuss words, you should be able to get them loose. If not, take the bike to the stealer and tell 'em......"You tightened 'em. Now you loosen 'em! And I ain't payin' you squat!"

Ive put tools to THOUSANDS of fasteners and trust me you guys CLAIMING allen heads are better than Torx heads are WAY off. Allens strip very easy, SS allens even easier.

Quality tools are the key Snap On, Mac, Matco, never stripped a derby cover screw.

I agree with you 100%. The problem is you can't just run to those stores on an evening or weekend and get those quality tools. And as we all know, tools only break at night and on weekends. I stripped out two allen screws last weekend, but it only took me 20 minutes to drill out the screws and another 15 minutes to get new ones. Sears doesn't even carry the better quality torx bits at their stores, they have to be mail ordered. I won't even get started on how hard it is to find single 27 bits.
