Default ABS maybe harder on pads

I got 13k on 09 RG with ABS. I checked my pads yesteday and they're close to a replacement before I do any long distance road trips this summer. I was kind of surprised because I'm not one of those people that waits until the last minute before braking. I also try to use both front and rear together when braking. Could it be the ABS causing more wear on the pads? Anyone else experienced premature pad wear?

I thought I read a post recommending stock HD pads for Brembo brakes and Lyndalls for everything else. Does anyone know for sure? Dawg, was that you who posted that?

At 13k on mine read this thread a I thought they looked thin, bought new pads and was surprised at how thin the new ones were. The manual specs 0.4mm thick as time to replace. I estimate I'm just a little over half way there. Put the new pads on the shelf, I'll watch them but expect they'll make it through this season.

Red face Pad Terminator!

I only got 4960miles on my fronts and had them replaced at the 5K service (today)... they were ready... I guess Brembos w/abs + TONS and TONS of City Driving = a bike that eats front pads as a snack.

I found it very suprising that the rears were still good to go. It suprised me because I use my rear brakes extensively due to lots of slow speed moving and always use both front and rears during normal stops.
