Idle question 2010 ultra
When I started my 2010 FLHTCU w/ 750 miles today and it seemed as if it was idling higher than normal at 1000-1100rpm's. Does that seem right? I believe that it was idling at 850-900 a few days ago. The H-D repair manual does not address the idle situation or adjustments. I resently installed the FuelMoto stage one kit and it has been running great. Could it be the MAP? It just seems that it is idling higher than it should be. I also notice that the throttle turns in the opposite direction about 1/4 of an inch which brings the idle down but when it is released it returns to the normal position and the idle increases to around 1000 rpms. Any suggestions or am I going crazy!!!!!!!

1000 is normal after warm up.
If by chance it idles higher after a few seconds after start-up then you probably blipped the throttle before the last shutdown.
Somehow the system uses the last shut down speed to calc idle on next start-up or something...can't remember, but I know how to fix it.
1) Place run switch to RUN
2) Turn ignition switch to "IGNITION" but do not start
3) Wait for fuel pump to cycle and engine light to go out
4) Turn ignition switch to OFF
5) Wait more than 3 seconds
6) Repeat 1-5 3 more times
This will reset the idle to the factory 1000 rpm. It's the same process if you have to replace your TBW twist grip sensor. That's where you'll find it in the manual....ask me how I know
