Finally, New HCC 14'' Ape Hangers Installed!!
Well been planing to apes on my bike for about 6 months now. Finally got my bonus check being part time it came to about $600. Which is pretty much what what it cost to do the bars! Bought the HCC 14'' Kit which came to $541 shipped (had to pay sales tax in Texas) and misc. stuff to finish the install came to about another $45 including new grips.
It took them 2 weeks to ship it out since they sell so many of these thing are on back order.. Got them Saturday and when i got off work me and my buddy started on them... spent about 3 hours working then when we tried to thread the new clutch cable in the tranny cover, while doing this we cross threaded it and broke off a few of the threads in the cover, so the cable and housing was stuck in the tranny cover. After that we called it a night at about 3:30am and got up Sunday and started to work some more. I had my dad professionally solder the wire extensions and wire up the bars. Then we did as much as we could with the install with out the clutch cable. So on Monday my dad took the tranny cover and cable to his work and drilled a hole in the inside of the cover were the threads are and pulled out the broken threads without damaging the cable and re-tapped the cover and fixed the remaining threads on the cable housing and fixed an all most dooming mishap.
All in all it was fairly simple install and as for the bars they are perfect!! not to high and and not short either just right, they are right at or alil above my shoulders and I'm 5'10''.
