Default 2010 RG exhaust question

Hello everyone. I just purchased a new RG custom and absolutley love it. Its my first Harley and I cant belive the wait is over. Im never looking back. I had a couple of dealer installs already on the bike when I purchased it. One being the Vance and Hines 2 into 1 high output slip on muffler. Its nice but I would like to have a little more growl than it has. I called vance and hines and they only have the baffle that is installed in the muffler available. And are working on a quieter one as we speak. Does anyone know of a way to add more sound to this muffler or am I going to have to head down another road to get the sound Im looking for. I know in the 2010 model the cat is in the header pipe so im guessing that may have somthing to do with it. Any help would be great! Thanks

You can remove the packing from around the baffle if it has any. That will make it louder.

this is opinion of mine, so take it for what it's worth. i have a 2010 rg and went with a 204 cam, breather and vance and hines pipes, but the cam gives the bike that low throaty sound.

I wonder if you pull the baffle out and then only run a Big City Thunder header baffle. Just not sure on the '10s.

If the baffle is removeable, then pull it out and straighten every other dimple. That may work as well. Experiment. You spent good money on a good exhaust system. If you jack up the original baffle, you know where to get another.

I am not sure you are going to get the sound you are looking for with the stock head pipe + cats. I had the nightstick, which is pretty much a straight through can with an end cap. I took off the end cap and it was "okay". The cats pretty much muffle any slip-on. I ended up going with a new 2-1 from Rush.

Take the baffle completely out and see what it sounds like. You may not ever get the sound you're looking for with the cat. It probably won't be that much louder with no baffle at all. You may have to spend more money and get Fuelmoto's 2:1 hearder with no cat.

V&H is a nice pipe but it has a tingy sound more than a growl and is just not my taste (had a 2 into 1 V&H on my last bike). Taking the baffle out will make your sound louder but won't give you a growl, it will just amplify your current sound.

I went with the reinhart true duals and absolutely love the sound! But then again exhausts are like opinions everyone has one!

I also have a Screamin Eagle Pro super tuner on the bike as well. Does this mean that if I remove the baffle I will have to have the bike re mapped?
