How did I end up 50 miles from home?

Once was going to visit a work buddy 15 miles away; ended up at the H-D dealer in San Francisco, 60 miles away, instead. Started talking to a guy in the parking lot who repo'd motorcycles for a living and when he said he'd rather be riding today, 'where you headed?' Told him guess I would head home, but wanted to take a longer ride. Told me that the exit to head down Hiway 1 south was just a few blocks away, I took it. Decided I would turn around when the tank was almost empty... ended up calling my wife just north of Monterey and asked her if she wanted artichokes for dinner.
Nothing more fun to me than a great ride that started and ended with no destination in mind.

isn't it strange. my p.o. box is seven miles away. usually it's seven miles from my house to the p.o. box, and another sixty to get home. it's the friggin metric system i tell ya. like celcius and farenheit, we're not supposed to understand it. i still can't figure out why it takes me an hour and a half to get to oklahoma city, but only 90 minutes to get back home.
