Just purchased the split visions. Love the look, but functionally NOT working for me. The mirrors do not rotate up enough when mounted to provide a proper rear field of view. I am 6'3" and no matter how hard I try to adjust the mirrors, the best I can get is a view of my shoulder or elbow. Yes, I've tried mounting in a more forward position, but no luck. While the mirrors are the same height as the stock Road King Classic mirrors, they don't rotate on the swivel ball as much. HD sells an extension kit for around $30, but they don't match the split vision look. So, I did not buy them. Can't find any matching extenders. I am thinking of buying taller handlebars, but I really like my low-rider style bars. Think I will try to return the split visions. Too bad, as these are a good look but not in lieu of being able to see what's behind you. Anybody have another solution?
I can`t believe there are any good review`s on these mirrors. The small part should be a wider angle because of all the blind spots. I hate them. You would be better off with a two dollar stick on from a parts store !
I had a pair and found them totally useless! I was thinking that the small mirror would be like a convex mirror but in reality they are nothing more than a regular small mirror.
These were the handle bar mounted type.
Question is, why build a mirror that is nothing but 2 of the same vision?

I have set of the handlebar mounted Split Visions. I can see the convex effect on mine, widens your field of vision. It wasn't until I mounted higher bars that it seemed that they made a difference.
But as others noted a 99 cent spot convex would do the same job, just wouldn't look sa good.
I have a set of Russ Wernimont Design (RWD) mirrors on my 15 RGS. You get the convex mirror, but without the fish eye in the HD Split Visions. At the tapered end the RWD's are slightly curved outward. They also swing out a little more than stock. You can get them from J&P Cycles or Drag Specialties. The ones I have are J&P Part #752-364 and 365 at $50 each. The best bar mount convex's out there in my opinion.
I disagree completely with RoadsterGlide, and am returning the RWD mirrors I just purchased on his recommendation. They are small in surface area, they seem to have a very slight tint to them, not at all the clarity I was expecting. Additionally, the convex portion throughout the mirror means they are useless past about 100 yards behind you in seeing WHAT it is that is behind you. Also, RWD said I required an adaptor for the right hand mirror based on year and model, and it was not at all needed.
