Default Warped Rear Rotor???

So I was riding today and in a slow turn I applied a little rear brake and it seemed to catch and then release then catch. So when I had the bike up on the jack cleaning it later today I spun the rear wheel and sure enough the wheel would spin free except for one spot where the rotor seemed to rub agaisnt the pads. So I looked down at the top of the caliper where you can see the pads and rotor and spun the wheel real slow, it seems in one small spot the rotor is warped and rubs the inside brake pad.

So the question is... is this normal? slight warp of the rotor? It seems strange to me because the amount of the rotor that rubs is so small, it's just maybe 1/2 inch if that, I would think for that rotor to warp it would be much more.

Also anyone else ever have a rear rotor warp on them?

Thanks

If you could hook up a dial indicator to the rotor, you could get a more precise measurement of how much it was out.

I've never had a bike rotor warp but I have had it on a car. In that case, I think it was just a batch of bad rotors on the car (it was new). The dealer replaced it under warranty.

Not sure if that is normal but my frt and rear do the same thing, very slight and only a small portion of the rotor but it still rubs slightly in a certain spot.

Just had it happen to my '08 ultra,@27,500 miles. Of course not covered by warranty. Dealer said it looked like something hit the rotor. I've heard that it's possible to easily damage it when installing a new tire.

Rotors warp but none of mine have. It's a progressive issue and will get worse over time. If it's still under warrantee have them check it. If not, you can safely ride it till it gets annoying.

It's covered by your ESP but not HD warranty for some reason.I had mine replaced after factory warranty was expired by my ESP for $ 50.00 deductible.

About 10 years ago I had my rear rotor crack, Took in to Petersons HarleyDavidson in Miami and they said it had to be a Bad Casting, Bike was out of warranty "Police Bike" but Harley covered it. I guess sometimes you can just get a bad one.
