Hotel - motel for me.. I have a riding buddy that wont do big rallys because he likes the all night drunk feast, wont stay in a hotel bc he wont walk to a bar..no thanks! im too much into ac, a comfy bed and modern plumbing
Wife wanted a toy hauler, hard to justify the initial price + added fuel to haul to your own bed when you can just pay for a room and walk away from it

I like to do both and have the option to sleep next to river or stay in a motel with A/C ,showers and breakfast .
Last summer on our trip from Seattle to LA and back we planned on camping about everyother night. I think we camped only four of the 14 nights.
Weather and the time to set up and take down tents and air matteress were the determining factors. The time it takes to set up camp and take it down . I could already be showered and having a pool side drink and in the morning be well rested eating breakfast ready to go.
So my wife now thinks camping is staying in a Motel 6 without a pool.
As I get older a bed does sound better but I still like to camp when weather and time is right. I do not like wakeing up and everything is wet and then you have to pack it up wet that takes all the fun out it.
