When repacing speakers can a nice set of POLK Audio 4 ohm speakers work?

I went with the J & M for all four speakers on my UG (without amp). Very satisfied for the amount invested although I still may add the amp at a later date. Install, service, etc. were all excellent. Buddy went with Biketronics amps and speakers and system sounds good, but very expensive and had some quality issues with speakers (but vendor replaced timely). It is really a question of how much you want to spend and just how good of a system you are looking for.

Recently installed the J&M 7 1/4" on my RG.........they simply rock !!
Not sure what the 5 1/4" sound like........so I'll leave it at that.
No amp on mine, and I can completely drown out my Rush 2" slip-ons
with a 'pump up the volume' at 80 mph

I just put the HogTunes in the front of mine...Huge difference, now I want to do rear. Was not looking to spend a huge amount at this time....If I had the extra cash on hand, I would have gotten the J&M 7 1/4's.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one....Very pleased so far with the Hogtunes...They raise level of volume and clarity so I can hear them on the Highway where it was distorting out before...

+ 10 on the J&M 7.25 and we should also mention the set comes with adaptor rings to fit the 5.25 hole up front

What is you honest opinion of your buddys Biketronics amp??? Does it add a good amount of sound and better sound quality??? Thinking about going with one myself eventually. Love Biketronics stuff. The quality and the lifetime warranty can't be beat. On top of the fact that their amps are specifically made for bikes. Not car amps converted. Dunno what the deal is with his speakers. They may get them from a different manufacturer.

J&M 7.25"'s and the new J&M amp is all you will ever need.
