Question Security key icon on while rideing

On a 300 mile run today the security icon (factory security) on my 09 Ultra came on and stayed on for the last 70 miles. I was afraid to turn it off to try to reset it before getting home in case it faulted to the armed setting and locked out the ignition. After getting it to the garage I killed it with the kill switch and the system seems to be working normally now. Any ideas? Could the system have been triggered by an outside source or something?

Check and see if you have any lights out...turn signals/brake light. IIRC that will turn on the security light.

My fob does't have any buttons, just the stock security fob. But it was in my pocket.

Mine did that once also. I shut it off and restarted and all good since.

If I recall, I did something to prevoke it. Like holding the four ways or something dumb.

I have had this happen and asked at the local stealer. Light related is right on! Sometimes my alarm will go off when it should not and then the light stays on. The stealer said it is probably the Harley LED that I put on for a brake light. They recommended a load equalizer. It never has given me a problem and always goes away when I stop turn of the bike and restart... I am not spending any money on this problem...

Some load equalizers claim to be HD alarm compatible, and some do not make that claim. What the difference is? I have no idea. What effect does it have on the safe operation of the scoot or the security? Probably none.

I would bet that the OP's problem is either related to stray voltage from LED upgrade, failed bulb, or just stray voltage from an unknown source. Also might be a low battery in the key fob....
