Default 2010 Street Glide - Any tail light upgrades available?

Really like the sleek look of the new tail lights on the 2010's but my wife even commented when following me home that they're hard to see in the daylight.

I've seen brightasslights.com's kits for the older models but would like to know if there any alternatives for the dual bulbs on the 2010's?

Thanks!

I added the HD tribar light that is also a brake light and I replaced my red signal lense with smoked and changed out the bulbs to red led (1157 plug). I don't have any pics right now.

Interesting cupcars, is the new tri-bar light quite a bit brighter? How about the LED's?

I have a '10 SG and had the same issues. I added a SR Safe Ride from www.powersportinnovations.com.
It is a set of LED strobes on the bottom of their license plate bracket. It's is directly wired to the batt. with a G force sensor. It comes on and flashes several times on deceleration (downshifting, throttle reduction, or brake application). It is not hooked up to the brakes.
A friend has it on his Ultra classic and when behind him I always saw that light first before the others. Guys riding behind me like it because they know when I let off the gas or downshift. It gives advance warning of slowing before the brakes are applied.
Still thinking of adding the spoiler lights on the S/bags and the new lighted luggage rack. Also have the spoiler light on my Tour Pak when I use that.
Hope this gives you some suggestions.
Phil

It's the same brightness as a "tail light" but it converts it to being a "brake light" also. I like mine.

Just purchased a set of LED replacement lights (laser star part LED K53-157R) from local HD dealer. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/320-...62&results=100 Glad to say HD was 15% cheaper than J&P here. Much brighter but had to take them back out while waiting for the load equalizer. They won't flash without it. should have that in 2-3 days. Hope that isn't a pain to install. The LED's themselves are a 2 minute job.

Keep us updated on the load equalizer. I'm interested to hear what's involved with that!

Unless I'm reading the J&P page wrong, that's a single-element light. You need a dual element for a '10 SG/RGC. Looks nice though if available in dual element. I would definitely buy a set!

Right - hence the load equalizer. See the last bullet point in the description.

"An optional converter kit allows the single element bulb to function as a dual element"

Also, just noticed that pic is wrong. The one I have has two contact nibs in the socket just like the stock bulb in the 2010 SG, not the single nib as pictured. THey probably use the same pic for all variations of the light.

I'm actually quite surprised about this....someone wanting to ADD a light. Most try to relocate, blackout or remove the blocky rear lights. The 2010 setup is quite a bit brighter than the previous models. I think that, as Harley riders, we let the fact that we are used to a big, rectangle brake light skew our perspective about what car driver's can see. That is - as motorcyclists, we're LOOKING for that big square brake light and think it's odd when it's missing. Those driving cars are simply looking for something to light up brightly, or they're not looking at all...either way they're not looking for the "traditional" brake light. This is especially true considering that other, non-harley's have a variety of different brake light designs and locations.
With that said, the 2010 setup is much more effective, as it is quite a bit brighter. Rest assured, you're just as safe, if not more, as you would be on an 09.
